PURPOSE STATEMENT
The purpose of First Baptist Church of Wauchula is to glorify God.
MISSION STATEMENT
Presenting a real Jesus to our community and world by:
Seeking to be like Him...Learning to model Him...Using our spiritual gifts...Growing in His grace.
CORE VALUES
1. We value the Bible as the divinely inspired infallible Word of God.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16
2. We value Godly leadership that guides the church in seeking God’s will.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,
a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
3. We value personal and corporate prayer in the planning and execution of all ministries and activities.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
4. We value unconditional love that creates a church family that offers a sense of belonging, refuge, and fellowship.
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love,
if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,
then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Philippians 2:1-3
5. We value people and seek to meet their needs through ministry and evangelism.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
6. We value dynamic and culturally relevant Christ-centered ministries for all ages.
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23
7. We value believers’ worship that proclaims and glorifies Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:1-5
8. We value the faithful stewardship of the Christian life expressed through the giving of time, talent, and tithe.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.
Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven
and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Malachi 3:10
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;
if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously;
if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8
